Can small actions bring a Big Impact?

Can small actions bring big impact?

I think that everything we do carries an impact and that if we are intentional in what and how we do thighs in our everyday routines even the smallest action can have a big impact.

Last year I was able to hear speaker Tom Murray at a work event. He spoke about intentionality  and how to build a  positive culture in your workplace by building relationships and seizing opportunities to positively interact with people  using a 30seconds approach. The idea is to use 30 seconds interactions to reach out, socialize with  and impact those around us in a positive way.

I have embraced this practice and included this intentionally in my routines. I started at work, at home and in my interactions with people when running errands or at the store. I decided that I would be mindful about my interactions and that I would scan for opportunities to do or say something that will bring joy to others. Whether a smile, a random comment or actually doing or saying something kind for someone else I decided that I would do it purposely and intentionally.

I loved what happened next! I started seeing that those small interactions not only allow me to be mindful about other people and bring a positive impact to their lives but at the same time I was feeling energized, joyful and happier.  Every time I sow a seed to bring a positive impact unto others I would reap back 100%. I loved it! I promise that if you try it you will feel fulfilled.

The Bible encourages us in  Matthew 5:13-16 to “Let our light shine before others” and I really think that if we are to demonstrate the power of God here on earth we should start by creating an atmosphere around that brings joy and manifests love unto others. It doesn't cost us money but it requires us to be intentional and put a little time and effort to let our light shine. Why? Because to tell you the truth, sometimes I do not feel like it but I must do it anyway. There will be moments in which we will have to dig deep to love and to honor the person before us. It is in those moments that I am reminded that I must bring light and life unto every situation.

These days it is more important than ever to be that light and bring that salt unto others. We are living in unprecedented times and people need what we carry. We can be socially distant but we can still be kind unto others through our interactions. Do not be scared  to shine that light by having random conversations and small acts of kindness towards those around you!

I encourage  you to think about how you can be intentional in your everyday interactions. Small actions yield Big Impact!

Key Bible Verse:

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness,  how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13-16

Let your light shine and pierce through these dark times!  Xoxo ~Barb
